Foundation for Developmental Disabilities |
The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities was established in 1986 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The FDD serves individuals living with a developmental disability like cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, or intellectual disability in San Diego and Imperial Counties and is a resource for those individuals and their families. The FDD knows these individuals face many challenges in the course of learning, working, and living in the community. Hence, their mission is “to support persons with developmental disabilities and their families when needed services are not available from public or private resources.” The Foundation was instrumental in creating the Southern California Housing Collaborative (SCHC), and both organizations have joined in planning to locate or create affordable housing options. The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities is beginning the work to create a giving campaign to further support the work of the SCHC and to continue helping persons with developmental disabilities find places to live that are safe, accessible, and affordable. Through the generosity of community partners such as corporations, businesses, and individuals, the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities is able to provide:
